‘We Have What It Takes’ –Nasarawa United Set Sights On Continental Ticket In 2026-2027 Euromatch NPFL Season
Retold by Oddsrama · 15 October 2026
Nasarawa United are making no bones about their ambitions for the 2026–2027 NPFL campaign. The Lafia-based outfit has laid down a marker: they want continental football and they're building to win the title. Club director Eche Amos made the declaration to Arise News, backed by backing from Governor Abdullahi Sule and chairman Solomon Babanja, who have kept the cash flowing and resources stable through the off-season recruitment drive.
The early signs of this season have been patchy, though. Nasarawa's away record reads poorly—eight road trips, eight losses and just one draw—but Amos insists the underlying picture tells a different story. Ball possession, tempo, character; on the numbers, the Solid Miners are doing more than the results suggest, even in defeats. That's either genuine encouragement or the usual coat of gloss on a rough start. For bettors watching NPFL form, it's worth tracking whether they can turn home comfort into genuine consistency.
Context matters here. Last season Nasarawa finished sixth with 56 points—just four short of a continental ticket. Missing out by such a margin will have stung, and it's clearly fueled the hunger coming into this campaign. Management's strategy hinges on fortress mentality at home while clawing points from away games, a pragmatic blueprint for any ambitious side fighting in a tough league.
With state backing and a clear roadmap in place, Nasarawa have the blueprint. Whether they've got the execution is the open question. The next few weeks will be telling—if they can shore up those away performances and lock down home grounds, the continental dream stops being fantasy.
