Tottenham Hotspur Could Turn To Osimhen To Solve Goalscoring Woes
Retold by Oddsrama · 30 September 2026
Tottenham's start to the season has been nothing short of a nightmare. After two dire campaigns that nearly saw them relegated, the club splashed over £200 million on new talent to help Roberto De Zerbi turn things around. But five games in, Spurs sit bottom of the Premier League table, winless, and their inability to find the back of the net consistently has made them heavy underdogs in the betting markets. Something clearly isn't right in the finishing department.
Enter Victor Osimhen. The Galatasaray striker has been linked with Tottenham before, and there's growing talk that he could be the clinical finisher the North Londoners desperately need. With 179 goals across 302 appearances in his career — a direct goal involvement every 1.09 games — Osimhen's credentials as a proven goalscorer are beyond debate. He's won trophies, played across Europe, and delivered at the highest level. Spurs' attacking midfielders like Maddison, Marmoush, and Kudus are creating chances, but without a lethal number nine to convert them, those opportunities are being wasted. Osimhen would change that immediately.
The stumbling blocks are real, though. Galatasaray won't let their star go cheap — especially not mid-season when Osimhen has been in superb form, even if a current injury complicates things. The Turkish side would demand a huge fee, and Spurs, despite their summer spending, might struggle to find the funds after already splashing out heavily and only recouping around £100 million in sales. Then there's the Premier League inexperience factor; Tottenham's summer strategy focused on signing players with English football exposure. A move for Osimhen would break that pattern entirely.
Still, when your season is crumbling and your strikers aren't delivering, sometimes you have to gamble. Whether Spurs decide to pursue this deal could define their entire campaign.
