EUROMATCH NPFL: Ex-Plateau United Midfielder Adeyanju Joins South African Club Stellenbosch
Retold by Oddsrama · 13 October 2026
Nigerian midfielder Kazeem Adeyanju has secured a move to South African top-flight outfit Stellenbosch FC on a free transfer, capping off his time with Plateau United in the NPFL. The deal was finalized last month, and Adeyanju has now been officially registered to feature for the PSL side starting in the 2026/27 season. He will wear the number 29 shirt as he aims to make an immediate impact in South African football.
Adeyanju becomes the fifth Nigerian player to join Stellenbosch's ranks, following a well-trodden path forged by previous compatriots Stanley Dimgba, Ibraheem Jabaar, Kazie Enyinnaya, and Olisa Ndah. The club's recruitment of Nigerian talent shows a clear trust in the quality available from the NPFL, and Adeyanju's arrival suggests Stellenbosch sees potential in the midfielder's ability to compete at PSL level. From a betting perspective, transfers of this nature often signal a club's ambitions for the season ahead, particularly when they're making moves to bolster the midfield department.
Adeyanju could make his debut sooner than expected, with Stellenbosch preparing to face Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership clash on Tuesday evening. Early minutes against one of South Africa's biggest sides would be a baptism of fire, but it also offers the chance to test himself immediately against established PSL opposition. How quickly he settles will be worth monitoring for anyone tracking Stellenbosch's form and squad depth as the campaign unfolds.
