Arsenal Linked With January Move For Bayern Munich Defender
Retold by Oddsrama · 15 October 2026
Arsenal are on the hunt for defensive reinforcements this January, and they've set their sights on Bayern Munich's Kim Min-jae. According to German journalist Christian Falk, the Gunners have officially added the South Korea international to their transfer wishlist for the mid-season window, with Bayern open to letting the 29-year-old go. Tottenham are also sniffing around, making it a competitive chase for one of Europe's more reliable centre-backs.
Mikel Arteta's defensive line has taken a battering with injuries. William Saliba remains sidelined and nowhere near fit, while Piero Hincapie's ankle problem has left a gap that needs filling. That's forced Arsenal's hand—they've got Gabriel, Ezri Konsa, and Cristhian Mosquera as options, but the squad clearly needs another seasoned body at the back. Kim's availability, combined with Arsenal's injury crisis, makes a deal logical for both club and player.
From a betting perspective, any Arsenal move for Kim signals the club's ambitions to challenge for the title this season. A reinforced defence could tighten their backline odds and improve their chances in tight matches, especially if Saliba's return is prolonged. Watch how quickly a deal materializes—if Arsenal move fast, it could shift the narrative around their form and boost their odds in critical January fixtures. Bayern's willingness to sell suggests they're comfortable losing him, which could mean Kim's market value dips, making this a window where a smart defensive investment pays dividends down the stretch.
